OBABL is proud to salute this year’s Power 100: The Most Influential Black Lawyers in the U.S.
While several of our Executives are not currently attorneys, they all started their careers as legal professionals. Being a lawyer proved a fast track to the C-Suite for this elite group. Kenneth Chenault, Kenneth Frazier, and Clarence Otis Jr. are CEO’s of Fortune 500 companies. Richard Parsons, the former CEO of Time Warner, is now Chairman of Citigroup.
In their executive roles, Roderick A. Palmore, General Mills Executive Vice President and Hinton J. Lucas, a Vice President at DuPont, have been vocal advocates for the General Counsel “Call To Action” initiative that incentivizes diversity at law firms.
We also found a healthy number of women at the top. Six of the fourteen Power 100 Executives are women! They are heading the legal departments of some of the world’s largest companies, including, Avon Products, Inc., Starbucks, and UPS.
